CHARLIE PARKER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND

The Charlie Parker Memorial Scholarship Fund is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting forensic education and professional development. Founded to honor Charlie Parker’s legacy and commitment to excellence in forensic science, the Foundation exists to support practitioners who are advancing their knowledge, skills, and expertise within the field.

Operated exclusively for scientific, charitable, and educational purposes, the Foundation works to foster learning opportunities that strengthen the forensic science community. Through scholarships, educational initiatives, and partnerships, we aim to reduce financial barriers for deserving professionals seeking advanced training, continuing education, and participation in forensic conferences and courses.


The Foundation is sustained through fundraising initiatives, grants, and the generous support of individuals, organizations, and corporate partners who share our commitment to education and professional growth. All funds are administered responsibly and directed toward advancing the Foundation’s mission of supporting forensic education and lifelong learning.

DONATE TO THE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND

Donations to the fund may be made in the name of any member (or memory of any former member) and in any amount. The following donations will be recognized at the annual educational conference:

$300   Silver Certificate

$500   Gold Plaque

$1000   Diamond Plaque

APPLY FOR MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FUNDS

APPLICANT ELIGIBILITY

Applicants must be forensic science students or forensic science practitioners in good standing with the profession. All applicants must be active members of the Texas Division of the International Association for Identification (TDIAI). Priority will be given to applicants demonstrating active participation and engagement with the Texas Forensic Foundation and/or the TDIAI. Must provide a letter from the supervisor (or forensic instructor) approving the training request.

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Training requests must be for a continuing education course, seminar, webinar, educational conference, or other training relative to the forensic identification field. Eligible expenses may include tuition, registration fees, lodging accommodations, and/or travel. Total amount awarded is dependent on available funding. Scholarships are awarded based on financial need by the Scholarship Committee. The deadline for applications is May 1st and shall be submitted via email to the Secretary.
